The Church at Lyonville is a unique church conversion, redesigned as a three-bedroom dwelling and tastefully furnished in a classic style. The Church boasts a unique charm, with stained glass windows, a soaring ceiling and many other original features lovingly incorporated into the space. The Church is ideally suited to either families or groups of couples, sleeping six guests across three bedrooms.

Originally constructed in the 1920s, The Church at Lyonville has a unique mix of character, charm and comfort.

Guests have exclusive access to half an acre of private, park style gardens, surrounding the Church, which are ideal for either lawn games, long lunches or just relaxing under the sprawling oak tree.

The living area is open plan, with a large dining table, gorgeous couch, stylish seating and fully equipped country kitchen (including a confessional, remodelled as a walk-in pantry). Light floods into the living areas through arched, stained-glass windows, providing a truly incredible atmosphere. Lyonville’s history as a timber milling town in the Victorian gold rush era is apparent throughout the property with rich brown panelling and views to the neighbouring Wombat Forest. At night, guests can light a wood fire to create a truly special ambience.

Each of the three bedrooms have large (and super comfy) beds, with two bedrooms furnished with a Queen and one with a King split bed. One bedroom sits in a mezzanine, which overlooks the living area and has its own hinged stain glass window, which opens to views down to the outdoor deck and gardens. The two downstairs bedrooms also have garden views and large wardrobes for guest storage. There is also a stylish, modern bathroom which is fitted with a walk-in shower and a separate spa bath. The Church also has a second toilet. The outdoor bungalow provides additional flexibility and is set up with toys as a children’s playroom.

The Church is well-appointed with welcome hamper of locally sourced produce and treats, including tea and coffee, and also full kitchen amenities, linen, toiletries, BBQ, etc.

The magnificent gardens perfectly showcase the seasonal character of the Daylesford region all year round. A north facing outdoor deck, BBQ and choice of lawn games are provided for guests’ enjoyment.

Lyonville is located close to Daylesford, Hepburn Springs, Trentham, Glenlyon, Kyneton and surrounding areas. The Church is a fantastic place to escape the bustle of the city and get back to nature, all whilst being close to all that the region has to offer. Lyonville is also home to the famous Radio Springs Hotel (bookings are a must) and outdoors lovers will enjoy the 6km forest walk to Trentham, along the picturesque rail trail.
